Do you know what is history?  history is the branch of knowledge dealing with past events. A continuous, systematic narrative of past events as relating to a particular people, country, period, person etc...

Guru Rinpoche

Guru Rinpoche, the precious teacher, also  known as padmasambhava is said to have born according to the prophecy of  Lord  Buddha.


Early Life

Guru padmasambhava was born miraculously in oddiyana present day swat valley in Pakistan.

King Indrabodhi found him holding a lotus flower in his right hand, a holy water pot in his left hand and a tiny trident in the folds of his left arm, on the middle of lake Danakosha.




Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal

Ngawang Namgyal as born in Tibet in 1594 into the princely family of Gya who ruled the Drukpa Kagyupa school.

His father was Tenpey Nima earlier travelled freguently to Bhutan, and his mother Sonam Pelkyi Buthri, the daughtre of a nobleman from central Tibet.

Ngawang Namgyal as born at the monzstery of Gardong near the oldest Drukpa establishment, Drukpa Jangchubling in the U province.

The Sacred places in Bhutan

 The most sacred place in Bhutan is Paro Taktsang Paro Taktsang is  a monastery, or place of Buddhist worship, that houses and is run by monks . Also called the Tiger's Nest Monastery. The main statue in paro Taktsang are:   In the hall of Thousand Buddhas, which is carved into the rock, a large statue of   a tiger  is located. The tiger is respected as the symbol of Paro Taktsang. Aja Ney The renowned Aja Ney is located  at an altitude of more than 3,500 meters under Sherimuhung Gewog . The most sacred are the 100 imprints of the sacred syllable “Aa” on the rock-cave left by Guru Rinpoche besides numerous other sacred sites.

  Kinley Rigzin Dorji (KRD) is the famous actor in Bhutan. Kinley Rigzin Dorji is currently studying in New York, born on June 28th 1996 apparently the youngest leading actor in Bhutan. He holds the record of youngest new comer actor in the movie ‘I am Sonam Kuenga’ and the youngest best lead actor award in the movie ‘Nga Kinley Choe Gi Superman’. “Acting is one of my biggest passion and also singing and writing songs would be others to add.” He said. His first movie was when he was at the age of 6 in the movie ‘Raymoen’. He also said “I was heavily influenced because my dad himself is a movie director and a producer (Kuenley Tshering Dorji)”
