The Sacred places in Bhutan
The most sacred place in Bhutan is Paro Taktsang
Paro Taktsang is a monastery, or place of Buddhist worship, that houses and is run by monks. Also called the Tiger's Nest Monastery.
The main statue in paro Taktsang are:
In the hall of Thousand Buddhas, which is carved into the rock, a large statue of a tiger is located. The tiger is respected as the symbol of Paro Taktsang.
Aja Ney
The renowned Aja Ney is located at an altitude of more than 3,500 meters under Sherimuhung Gewog. The most sacred are the 100 imprints of the sacred syllable “Aa” on the rock-cave left by Guru Rinpoche besides numerous other sacred sites.
